The holiday season is a time for warmth, generosity, and coming together—and at Wright’s, those values are at the heart of everything we do. As we head into the busiest time of year, we're proud to continue long-standing traditions of community support and sustainability that help ensure our farm’s impact extends well beyond our bakery doors.
Weekly Pastry Donations & Food Rescue Efforts
Every week, our team works with trusted local partners to make sure nothing delicious goes to waste and that our neighbors in need are supported. New Beginnings Church in Woonsocket stops by twice a week to pick up leftover pastries and baked goods to serve with their daily community meals. On Sundays at our Creamery in Providence, a local picks up any leftover product to distribute through Crossroads and other local food pantries.
For any ingredients or baked goods that can’t be donated, we stay true to our sustainability commitment: everything is either composted or repurposed into our cows’ diet. This system keeps us close to zero food waste, ensuring that every part of our production cycle serves a purpose.
Milk Donations That Support Local Families
Our partnership with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank is an integral part of our mission. Each week, Wright’s sells about 1,200 gallons of milk at cost, allowing agencies statewide to offer families access to fresh, local dairy. We also donate 60 half-gallons of milk each month to the North Smithfield Food Pantry, helping ensure that nutritious milk reaches households right in our own backyard.
Round Up for Rhode Island: Doubling Your Impact
From November 28 through December 21, we're inviting customers to participate in Round Up for Rhode Island. When you round up your total at checkout, your donation goes directly to the Rhode Island Food Bank—and Wright’s will match every contribution. That means each small act of generosity has twice the impact, supporting critical hunger relief during one of the most challenging times of the year.
Why This Work Matters
As we celebrate the season, we’re grateful to everyone who helps make these initiatives possible—from our hardworking team to our customers who show up with generosity year after year. Together, we’re proving that giving back isn’t just a tradition—it’s one of the sweetest parts of the holiday season.
